Direct Primary Care
Dr. Langley has switched to a Direct Primary Care (DPC) practice and is never looking back! She saw colleagues suffer - seeing too many patients in a day for too short of a time each, providing nowhere near the quality of care that they were capable of, charting late into the night instead of being with their families. And then she saw patients suffering, too - not being able to voice all their concerns at a single appointment, not being able to get in for weeks, and unable to ask quick questions of their physicians. That was not the way she wanted to be a doctor!
DPC is simple in its concept - patients pay monthly for a membership with a doctor, in which they can get in quickly for a 30-60 min appointment. It sounds a lot like the way doctors worked 100 years ago! And its effects on the doctor-patient relationship AND one’s health is astounding.
